CSR Strategy
The Warsaw Stock Exchange and the companies of the GPW Group pursue their business operations in compliance with the highest business standards and taking into account social, ethical and environmental factors.
GPW has for years promoted the highest ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) standards.
In 2020, GPW continued to pursue its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy.
GPW contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals
The GPW Group pursues its mission in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Approved by all 193 UN Member States in 2015, the Agenda defines 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 targets to be achieved globally by 2030.
The GPW Group actively supports 5 selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are relevant to the activity of the Exchange and its subsidiaries in view of their role on the Polish financial and commodity markets and the relevant stakeholder groups.

United Nations Global Compact
In April 2020, GPW joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), established in 2000 on the initiative of UN Secretary General to bring together businesses whose strategies and activities follow ten universal principles concerning human rights, labour standards, environmental and anti-corruption engagement, as well as support for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
As a member of the UN Global Compact, GPW is a part of the biggest global network of institutional and corporate leaders of sustainable development including more than 11 thousand companies from all business sectors in 156 countries around the world.
Sustainable Stock Exchanges
Since 2013, GPW is a member of the Sustainable Stock Exchanges, a UN initiative of 93 global exchanges which pursue sustainable and responsible business and promote the highest ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) standards on their home markets through initiatives addressed to market participants. In line with the global standards, GPW has for many years promoted highest ESG standards among listed companies with the publication of socially responsible company indices: RESPECT Index and WIG-ESG.
Since September 2019, GPW publishes a new index: WIG-ESG, which covers the biggest public companies participating in WIG20 and mWIG40. By launching WIG-ESG, GPW offers an index with a clear investment objective. GPW published both WIG-ESG and the RESPECT Index from September to December 2019. Only WIG-ESG is published by GPW Benchmark as of 1 January 2020.
